REGISTERING FOR STATE UNEMPLOYMENT AND INCOME TAX
You'll need to register with the Comptroller of Maryland to get both your Central Registration Number (CRN) and your Employer Account Number.
Tip:
Future-date registration is possible for this state's income tax withholding!
Once registered, you will receive both an Unemployment Account Number (UI) (called “MD Employer Account Number”), Unemployment Rate (%) and Withholding Tax Account Number (WH) (called “CRN”) which you will need to enter into Namely Payroll under Company > Tax (UI & WH tax).
If you've run payroll in Maryland previously, you can find your ten digit MD Employer Account Number on any notice received from the MD Department of Labor, Licensing and Registration, Division of Unemployment Insurance. You can also find it on your Unemployment Insurance Quarterly Contribution Report (FORM DLLR/OUI 15).
If you've run payroll in Maryland previously, you can find your eight digit CRN on your Withholding Tax Return (Form MW506) which you would have received from the Comptroller of Maryland.

If a Power of Attorney is requested from you, you should email completed copies of the forms namelyPOA@Namely.com with the CID in the subject line for processing. We will update our system and maintain a copy of each form for record-keeping purposes
For additional information on Power of Attorney, read Completing the Power of Attorney Package.

Tip:
The most up to date W-4 documents can be found in the Namely section of the Document dropdown menu in Onboarding and Manage eSignature.
Form Name: MW 507

Comments: A new employee must give an employer a Form MW 507, Employee's Withholding Exemption Certificate, showing the number of exemptions claimed. The certificate is effective upon the first payment of wages and remains in effect until an amended certificate is furnished. Employers that do not have an MW 507 form must withhold on the basis of one withholding exemption.
